Officials will be testing the emergency alert system in northwest Sonoma County at noon. Residents might be getting messages from the county’s emergency notification system, but it’s only a test. The exercise will test how well the alert and warning system provider, CodeRED, can reach residents in rural areas. The test will take place in Sea Ranch, Annapolis and the Kelly Road areas around Lake Sonoma, and north and south of Cloverdale.
