A judge in Sonoma County is lifting a DUI conviction for a Santa Rosa resident who was represented by a fake attorney. The man’s conviction was vacated Tuesday, about nine years after he was found guilty. The man served three years of a five-year prison sentence, then was deported to Mexico in 2017. It was later found that his attorney, Miranda Devlin, was unlicensed. She was eventually convicted of fraud in federal court. Devlin identified herself as a real lawyer named Stephanie Martin and was on hand for 22 of the man’s court appearances in the DUI case.
