Sonoma County’s two congressmen heard a lot of concerns from voters. Congressmen Mike Thompson and Jared Huffman heard from the community during a town hall last night in Santa Rosa. A broad range of topics were covered. including gun violence, tax relief for fire victims, salmon fishing, and digital literacy. Also discussed was US support for Ukraine – Congressman Huffman compared Russia’s aggression to Hitler and Nazi Germany.
“We thought we were done with these types of wars of aggression and brutality and the atrocities and genocide and other things that go along with them,” said Huffman. “We’re living through it again right now because of (Russian President Vladimir) Putin and this Russian atrocity.”
A constituent disagreed with Huffman and Thompson’s support of Ukraine, worried that her 22-year-old son would become involved in a World War.
