Sonoma County is no longer reporting official daily COVID-19 case counts. The county’s COVID dashboard website was revamped Friday to reflect a change in priority data. The new-look website will instead prioritize wastewater surveillance, hospitalizations, deaths, and data on vaccinations and variants. There is no longer an emphasis on infection rates and case counts. Public health officials are getting away from those statistics, saying they’re not reliable anymore because of a major decline in lab testing since the earlier days of the pandemic.
