A teenage girl has been charged with murder in Mendocino County. Late Saturday morning, an uncle was looking for his 16-year-old niece, Ruby Sky Montelongo, finding her deceased in a vacant field in Covelo. Sherriff deputies responded and found out Ruby was with a 15-year-old girl the prior evening and that they knew each other. They determined that the girl attacked Ruby that evening and had left her there. They arrested the 15-year-old and charged her with murder. An autopsy on Ruby’s body will take place Wednesday but the results will likely take weeks to be released.
