California Republicans Push Bill Regarding Fentanyl and Murder

California’s opioid crisis is taking center stage today. A bill to fight fentanyl by charging drug dealers with murder is back on the table. Republicans will try to bypass the Assembly Public Safety Committee and call for a vote. The head of the committee decided last month not to hear the bill out of fear it wouldn’t pass, and instead hold an informational hearing in June. But some lawmakers don’t want to wait and hope to vote on other fentanyl-related bills.
