Man Breaks into Rohnert Park Home with Axe

A man armed with an axe has been arrested after breaking into a Rohnert Park home. On Sunday evening, the armed man broke into a home on Bruce Avenue by smashing through the back sliding glass door. The resident inside, who didn’t know the suspect, ran out the front door and called 911. Police arrived and set up a perimeter around the home, making announcements trying to get the man to come out. After no answer, officers went in and found that the suspect, Tage Allen Wert of Groveland, was no longer armed with an axe. He was arrested without further incident and charged with vandalism. No one was injured.
