The largest school district in Santa Rosa is facing a lawsuit. It says Santa Rosa City Schools failed to protect a 13-year-old girl who was attacked by a former student on the campus of Rincon Valley Middle School. The girl was attacked last June, just before the end of the school year, and suffered what the lawsuit calls substantial physical and emotional injuries. The attack happened on campus, and the accused attacker is a student who had already been expelled for fighting. The lawsuit says the district was aware the former student was bothering and threatening to harm the girl, but didn’t act to protect her.
