Today, the Santa Rosa City School Board is interviewing a pair of candidates for its open trustee position. The candidates, Deanna Olivarez and Jeremy De La Torre, have some things in common. They’re both longtime residents of the district’s Area Seven, and both have kids in the district. The interviews will take place at the regular board meeting, which starts at 6 p.m. The trustee seat for Area Seven has been vacant since March, when Laurie Fong resigned to return to Montgomery High School as its interim principal. She stepped in following the firing of the principal who was in charge when a student was stabbed to death on campus earlier this year.
