Sonoma County public health officials are reporting an unusually high number of COVID-19 deaths for the month of April. The virus claimed seven lives last month, which is high for this stage in the pandemic. It’s also the highest COVID death toll for the month of April in Sonoma County in the four years the statistic has been tracked. All seven people who died had underlying health conditions and all but one was at least 70-years-old. Other public health data doesn’t indicate COVID-19 is making a resurgence in Sonoma County.
