Wine Spectator magazine is facing claims of discrimination and harassment. A new lawsuit filed on behalf of former employee April Louis alleges she was wrongfully terminated following medical absences for three gender-affirming surgeries, according to the SF Chronicle. During her time employed at the magazine, Louis claims she lodged several complaints about senior staffers allegedly fudging the numbers on some wine reviews. Her lawyers claim the termination was partly motivated by retaliation over her complaints. The lawsuit also accuses a senior editor of directing multiple “offensive and harassing comments” at her. An attorney for the magazine tells the Chronicle the “allegations are without merit.”
