The ex-wife of an expert witness in the Derek Chauvin trial is speaking out in the case of four people accused of vandalizing her home in Santa Rosa. The group, which has its preliminary hearing this week, is accused of smearing pig’s blood on the woman’s home, and on a public art piece in Downtown Santa Rosa in 2021. The woman’s ex-husband, Barry Brodd, a former Santa Rosa police officer and expert in police procedure gave testimony in the Chauvin trial, but he hasn’t lived in the vandalized home since March of 2020. The woman testified in the suspects’ hearing on Tuesday, saying she feared retribution when she found out Brodd would be testifying in the trial of the former Minneapolis police officer who killed George Floyd. The woman says the suspects also left a pig’s head on her porch and caused 35-thousand-dollars in damage to her home. She adds that she still doesn’t feel safe inside her home.
