Assault rifles, ammo, and a large amount of drugs were found in a home near downtown Santa Rosa. On May 27th, Santa Rosa police searched a residence on the 1300 block of Deturk Avenue. The search turned up over two pounds of cocaine, an AK-47 style rifle, an AR-15 style rifle, five handguns, high-capacity magazines, and several hundred rounds of ammunition. The suspect, 45-year-old Miguel Gaona Palomares, was not at the home when the search occurred. An arrest warrant was issued for him soon afterwards and Palomares turned himself in on Monday.
