DUI Driver Hurts Self and Two-Year-Old Son in Crash on Highway 12

A DUI driver has been arrested after crashing in Santa Rosa, injuring herself and her two-year-old son. Yesterday afternoon, an SUV speeding eastbound on Highway 12 crashed into a light pole on the southwest corner at South Wright Road. Police arrived to find the driver, 40-year-old Melanie Dellard, and her toddler son. Both suffered significant but non-life threatening injuries. Cops later determined that Dellard was under influence of a prescription medication. She was arrested for driving under the influence causing injury to another and child endangerment.
