Petaluma Woman Suffers Life Threatening Injuries After Setting Herself on Fire

Petaluma police rescued a woman and her dogs after she intentionally set herself on fire. On Sunday night, officers went to the 400 block of E Street to check on a woman living in her car after reports of drug activity and disturbances. She refused to speak to officers and eventually lit the spout of a gas container which set herself on fire. Officers broke the windows of the car to get her and her four dogs out of the car. The woman suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. All four dogs had minor injuries and are being cared for by North Bay Animal Services. The officers involved suffered minor injuries including burns and cuts.
