A barn fire west of Santa Rosa was mistaken for a plane crash. On Monday night, calls came in regarding a aircraft down near Willowside Road. Firefighters responded to find no plane crash but smoke coming from a barn in the 3400 block of Piner Road. That is in the flight path of the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport. The whole barn was ablaze and had started to spread to some vegetation when firefighters came and knocked it down within 20 minutes. Firefighters haven’t determined the exact cause but believe it was electrical. No injuries were reported.
