Nearly $30-Million Going Towards Homelessness and Behavioral Health Issues in Sonoma County

Sonoma County is getting nearly 30-million-dollars from two separate state grants. The funding, announced Monday, will help the county work to improve youth behavioral health and address the homelessness crisis. More than 18-point-two-million-dollars comes from California’s Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program. The county will use the money to establish a children’s crisis residential program and an adolescent residential substance use disorder treatment facility. The facility in Sonoma Valley will serve more than 600 minors and their families every year. And, more than eleven-point-two million-dollars will go toward efforts to house homeless people with mental health and substance abuse issues.
