Handgun confiscated from Jose Reyes 7-16-23 (Santa Rosa Police)
A man with a handgun was arrested in Santa Rosa during a traffic stop. On Sunday night, an officer saw a car with an expired registration speeding in the area of Piner Road at Coffee Lane. The officer pulled over the driver, 22-year-old Jose Reyes. After seeing several open alcoholic containers, the officer had Reyes exit the vehicle. Reyes told the officer he had a gun in his waistband. It turned out to be a loaded semi-automatic Glock 9mm handgun. While Reyes was not arrested for DUI, he was charged with two firearm possession counts.
