The founder of Sebastopol’s Peacetown Concert Series is being investigated for allegedly misappropriating tens of thousands of dollars. A former executive director of Peacetown INC., Elizabeth Smith, is accusing Jim Corbett, who is known as Mr. Music, of getting inappropriately paid through contracts between Corbett and The Barlow market district. Smith says that Peacetown paid all the costs of the events unaware that payment for those expenses was going to Corbett. The board, though, stands behind Corbett saying all the funds have been accounted for. Sebastopol police started the investigation but have since passed it on to Petaluma police to avoid a conflict of interest.
