Two Petaluma Mobile Home Parks Threaten to Shut Down Amid Proposed Rent Ordinance

Two mobile home parks in Petaluma are threatening to shut down after a proposed rent ordinance. Owners of the Little Woods Mobile Villa and Youngstown have notified their residents of potential plans to close the parks and convert them to other uses. Neither letter outright stated that the proposed rent ordinance was the direct cause of the notice. Each one cited several factors for the notice, including, quote, “measures taken by state and local government.” Petaluma recently vowed to update its cap on annual rent increases for mobile home parks. The two parks have a combined 180-units, and 102 units are rented by seniors.
