Pacific Gas and Electric is holding up its end of a wildfire safety agreement with Sonoma County. That’s according to a report from an independent monitor assigned to oversee PG&E’s safety performance in the region. The monitor was assigned as part of a court settlement following the 2019 Kincade Fire. The utility reached an agreement with the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office in April of 2022. It must maintain transmission and distribution equipment and manage vegetation to prevent future wildfires.
