A Covelo man has been sentenced after a fatal shooting outside a bar. Dino Blackbear Lincoln received a 70-year prison sentence for the shooting death of Kenneth Fraiser Whipple. He was convicted by a jury back in May for second-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon and reckless driving. Lincoln’s attorney said he will file an appeal. Whipple was killed on September 15th, 2021 outside a bar in Covelo. Deputies arrested Lincoln on September 18th, a day after he led officers on a chase through Fort Bragg that ended when he crashed into another vehicle and tried to flee the scene.
