Sonoma County is responding to a pair of articles regarding one of their contractors. Last week, the Press Democrat released a pair of articles on DEMA Consulting and Management. One of the articles was on their billing practices, specifically $800,000 for positions employees don’t remember interacting with or knowing about. In response, Sonoma County will audit more than $26 million dollars in no-bid contracts with DEMA, contracts that were awarded during the pandemic. DEMA ran several homeless sites for the county during the height of the pandemic.
