The District Attorneys of ten California counties are agreeing to a settlement with a Utah-based diet supplement maker. Among them are Sonoma, Napa and Marin Counties. Evig LLC, which sells products using the name Balance of Nature, is agreeing to pay one-point-one-million-dollars to settle a lawsuit. An investigation conducted by the California Food, Drug and Medical Device Task Force found that the company was falsifying the benefits of its diet supplement capsules. A quarter-million-dollars of the settlement amount will be for consumer restitution. That means any California resident who bought Balance of Nature products within the past six years is eligible for refunds.
