Covid Cases are Up in Sonoma County This Summer

Sonoma County is seeing a bit of a summer COVID case spike. For the past several months, Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital reported a positivity rate of six to eleven percent. But, in the past two weeks, the rate has climbed to between 15 and 18-percent. Three patients were recently admitted to that hospital for COVID-19. But, a spokesperson says most of the cases have been mild and no one has been placed in intensive care. Sonoma County as a whole had an average of ten to 12 people hospitalized with COVID on any given day in July. But last week, the average was up to 21.
