With a shortage of educators in California, the state is holding a teacher recruitment summit next Monday in Sacramento. The summit will be at the California Department of Education on August 14th from 11:00am to 1:00pm. The summit is open to anyone interested in any educational field. The event will also kick off a coalition to recruit teacher candidates statewide. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond says addressing the shortage is key. He adds that the state “must increase compensation, prioritize training, and improve working conditions” for educators.
