The Sonoma County Fire District is getting some financial aid from the state. State Senator Mike McGuire has announced they will get a million dollars to buy two Type 3 engines with the capacity to hold 500 gallons of water each. The Press Democrat reports that those will be replacing some outdated equipment and will help get the district some of the latest engines. Also, 15 fire stations in Northern Mendocino County and Southern Humboldt County will get $2-million to help pay for 10 new wildland firetrucks. Last, another $15-million dollars will be going to prevention and vegetation management project across the North Bay.
