Woman with Gun and Knives Arrested in Rohnert Park After Being Shot with Sponge Rounds

A woman is behind bars following reports of a person with a gun near a grocery store in Rohnert Park. Police used less than lethal force on her at about 3:45 Monday afternoon. Police first received reports of someone with a gun and two knives on the West Copeland Creek Trail. She was shot with two sponge rounds close to a nearby Foodmaxx store after refusing to follow commands and reaching toward the gun tucked in her waistband. She was taken to a hospital but was not seriously injured. At some point during the ordeal, a Rohnert Park police officer was bitten by a police dog deployed by another agency.
