Sonoma County is offering assistance to Maui County in the wake of the wildfire that has now killed a confirmed 106 people. The Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management has reached out to the Maui and Hawaii Emergency Management Agencies. It will offer immediate support and guidance, taken from experience after major, deadly wildfires hit Sonoma County in 2017, 2019, and 2020. Sonoma County’s 2017 wildfires killed two-dozen people and destroyed 53-hundred homes.
