Federal Disaster Loans Now Available to Storm Victims From Last Winter

A bit more aid is available for storm victims. Sonoma County businesses and residents that were affected by the winter storms last December and January are now eligible for low-interest federal disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration. Businesses of all sizes and nonprofits may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets. Disaster loans up to $500,000 are available to homeowners to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate. Homeowners and renters are eligible for up to $100,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property, including personal vehicles. You can apply online at DisasterLoanAssistance.sba.gov.
