A lawsuit claims a Santa Rosa police officer stomped on a man’s head on the day he died in 2021. The federal lawsuit, initially filed last September, now names the officer, Nicholas Madarus. The lawsuit also names the city of Santa Rosa and four other police staff. The alleged stomping happened while police were trying to arrest the man in Roseland in November of 2021. Santa Rosa Police Chief John Cregan says the accusations are false.
