Sonoma County Animal Services are trying to figure out what to do with two pit bulls with a history of violent encounters. The dogs, Mac and Maggie, along with their owners, Harmony Bolt and Mia Kniss, have been reported to the county at least 11 times since 2018. The latest incident happened in June when the dogs attacked a Sonoma man on Sierra Drive, causing injuries which required 30 stitches and six hours of surgery. Records show that animal services did not take action on any of the previous reports until this past February when it was agreed the dogs would be labeled potentially dangerous. The dogs have now been designated vicious since the June attack and a court date is set for September 20th to determine their fate. Meanwhile, the owners dispute the specifics of the June attack and are awaiting trial.
