A gang member has been arrested in Santa Rosa with a concealed handgun. Yesterday evening, an officer with his K-9 on patrol came across Jesus Mendoza, who he recognized, in a parking lot on Guerneville Road. The officer found out Mendoza had two active warrants for his arrest. A search of a satchel Mendoza was wearing turned up an unregistered 9mm semi-automatic handgun with 2 loaded magazines. He was arrested on four counts including possession of a firearm with prior felony conviction.
