Alta Fire in Napa County Contained to 14-Acres

A 14-acre vegetation fire in Napa County has been fully contained. The Alta Fire broke out Tuesday afternoon at the 1600 block of Wooden Valley Road, about 10 miles northeast of the city of Napa. Cal Fire responded with eight fire engines, along with four air tankers, two helicopters, two dozers and two water tenders. Most of it was contained by Tuesday night but it wasn’t declared fully contained until Wednesday evening. No injuries or structural damage was reported but Wooden Valley Road was closed between Highway 121 and Wooden Valley Cross for the duration of the fire.
