Today, the Healdsburg City Council will re-vote on a hotel ordinance it initially passed almost five years ago. The ordinance banned future hotels along Healdsburg’s central plaza, and set a limit on the number of rooms in hotels built downtown. But, the city committed a procedural mistake that likely renders the ordinance invalid. After being approved, the city must announce new regulations within 15 days. But back in 2018, it took Healdsburg 24 days to post notice of the hotel ordinance being approved. During today’s meeting, the ordinance will be re-presented to the city council for re-adoption and proving notice to the public within 15 days.
