Santa Rosa School Board Interrupted by Hate Speech Online

Another public meeting was flooded with racist and anti-semitic comments in Sonoma County. On Tuesday the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors Zoom meeting was interrupted by people making offensive comments, and less than 24 hours later, the same thing happened at Wednesday night’s meeting of the Santa Rosa City Schools Board of Trustees. The second attack may have been even more disruptive, with at least a dozen commenters hijacking a discussion of key school board issues. Friday, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors announced that at its meeting tomorrow, only people attending in person will be allowed to speak. Anyone can listen in via Legistar, Zoom or their phones, but the board will not be taking comment via Zoom.
