Santa Rosa firefighters quickly contained a small grass fire on Bicentennial Way between Lake Park Drive and Fountaingrove Parkway. Yesterday afternoon, firefighters responded to the fire which was slow burning in mowed, dry seasonal grasses. It was quickly brought under control in a few minutes before it could move from the cut grass to heavier brush. Firefighters say they were able to get the fire out quickly because the grass had been mowed. They remind property owners to follow the city’s weed abatement ordinance.
