Windsor police recovered dozens of stolen liquor bottles after a high speed chase. On Sunday night, a deputy pulled over a car for an expired registration tab, but the driver sped off. Deputies chased the vehicle onto southbound 101, and used a spike strip south of the Hopper Avenue exit to force the car off the freeway. The car drove into a Valero gas station near Coddingtown and tried to drive away again but was stopped by police. The car’s passenger, Chardonnay Vivian Jefferson, then fled on foot but was apprehended while the driver, Jerome Labrice Brown, remained in the car. Inside the vehicle, deputies found over 50 liquor bottles that had been stolen from a Santa Rosa Safeway store. They also found an anti-theft magnetic detacher, a tool used to remove the anti-theft alarm from expensive liquor bottles.
