The Bay Area is under a Spare the Air Alert for at least the rest of the day. The Bay Area Air Quality Management District issued the alert Wednesday, due to wildfire smoke causing unhealthy air quality throughout the region. During the alert, burning wood, fire logs, in pellet stoves and in outdoor fire pits is illegal. Officials are encouraging people to stay indoors to limit exposure.
