Ghost gun confiscated from home on the 1300-block of Grand Avenue 9-28-23 (Santa Rosa Police)
A joke about a gun on campus leads to the arrest of three Santa Rosa men and a teenager. Police contacted a 13-year-old student from Heath Slater Middle School after a staffer overheard him tell his friends he had a gun in his backpack. After no gun was found on him, police found a picture of a handgun on one of the student’s social media accounts. He admitted it belonged to a family member at his home. Police then searched the 17-year-old’s room in the same home and found a loaded unregistered ghost gun which may have been recklessly used on September 25th when gunfire was reported on the Newhall Bike Path near Martin Luther King Park. The 17-year-old was arrested along with three adults, two of whom are suspected of being involved with gunfire.
