An older man was rescued from a Santa Rosa home that caught fire Tuesday. Santa Rosa firefighters responded shortly after noon to a residence in the 900 block of Beaver Street near Santa Rosa Junior College. Light smoke was seen coming from a small detached unit behind the main house. Santa Rosa Battalion Chief Jason Jenkins says that firefighters forced their way inside and found a man lying on the floor. A floor heater in the unit was on fire. The man was carried down a stairway and out of the home and transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation.
