There is new information about the death of a Petaluma father. Forty-nine-year-old James Hopkins Jr. was found dead in his home in August of 2022. New court documents say he was allegedly killed by his 20-year-old son, Christopher Hopkins, who used a spear to murder his father. Christopher remains behind bars without bail after pleading not guilty to a murder charge. He faces life in prison if convicted as charged. Last year, Petaluma police said Christopher reportedly confessed to the murder.
