Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital is still turning some patients away despite announcing its sterilization equipment is now working. A week ago, the hospital paused most of its surgical procedures. But, five days ago, a spokesperson said operations would resume “as soon as possible.” Surgeries were delayed after hospital staff noticed a water treatment issue with two machines used in the Sterile Processing Department. Surgical instruments were reportedly coming out of the machines looking spotted or rusty. That prompted officials to suspend elective surgeries.
