Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The goal is to keep prescription painkillers from being misused, as two-thirds of people who do so get them from a friend or family member. It’s meant to educate the public about the potential of abuse when using medications. The CDC estimates over 107-thousand people died from drug overdoses last year.
In Sonoma County, at least four law enforcement agencies at their station headquarters are scheduled to be taking back drugs tomorrow (Saturday) between 10 AM and 2 PM: Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Windsor, and Cotati. Click here to find all participating agencies.
