Two Walgreens thieves were arrested during a traffic stop. Last Thursday night, the Walgreens in Cotati contacted police about a man who took a large amount of merchandise and left the store, fleeing in a white SUV. An officer caught up to the SUV on southbound 101 and pulled it over. The officer saw a large amount of merchandise on the rear floorboard of the vehicle. It was discovered that the driver and passenger had stolen several thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise from multiple Walgreens locations throughout Sonoma County. Elayja McCoy and Daniel Cortez were arrested for the burglaries. McCoy was also arrested for an outstanding warrant.
