Thirty-five-thousand-dollars in grant money is going to six Sonoma County school districts to promote arts education. Creative Sonoma is handing out the grant in order for the districts to create Strategic Arts Plans or produce Student Arts Showcases. The districts getting the funding are Geyserville, Healdsburg, Old Adobe, Waugh, Sonoma Valley, and Windsor. These grants will allow districts to get the help they need to make arts education an essential component of their work to create a better future for their students. This comes on top of Prop 28 money in which about $9.5-million dollars annually will go to Sonoma County school districts with art plans beginning next year.
