Petaluma Boat Saved From Completely Sinking in the Marina

A sinking boat in the Petaluma River has been saved from fully sinking. On Sunday afternoon, firefighters along with the marina manager raced to save a docked boat with a hull that was almost completely submerged. Firefighters used their oil spill response trailer and inflatable rescue boat. Though no leak was reported, fire personnel deployed an oil containment boom, preventing oil from spreading into the Petaluma River. The sinking stopped and the marina manager is now working with the boat’s owner to remove the boat from the water.
