Bay Area Freeways May Be Tolled Starting in 2035

More details are emerging about whether to charge drivers on Bay Area freeways. The Metropolitan Transportation Commission is studying that as one way to ease congestion. During a meeting last night, experts said the fee to add tolls to all lanes in 2035 would range from ten to 30 cents on highways that run parallel to public transit. A chart also estimated the cost for driving 40 miles a day, which came out to 270 dollars a month.
