Two men have been arrested after human remains were found inside a burning vehicle in Covelo. Lawrence Allen Joaquin and Iran Lee Hoaglen have been charged with first-degree murder and arson. The human remains were found in the back of a burning vehicle on October 31st. Around the same time, Mendocino County Deputies learned that the vehicle’s owner was missing and that they were working at an illegal cannabis farm on Hopper Lane. They investigated and saw an obvious crime scene in a home next to the farm. Joaquin and Hoaglen were residents of the home and determined to be involved.
