A mobile slaughterhouse has officially closed. Bay Area Ranchers Co-Operative or BAR-C had opened a mobile slaughterhouse in February of 2022 to help meet the demands of local ranchers. However, several issues including equipment delays, inhumane treatment of livestock, and lack of skilled staff, lead to them to stop work last December. Now this week, they’ve officially closed down. Fortunately, ranchers do have two other local mobile slaughterhouses they can still use: JMF Slaughter and North Bay Butchers.
